| The Owl Creek Conservancy is gratified to have the support of the Ariel Foundation for our Aquifer Recharge Project, which will protect 273 acres of the aquifer recharge area for the water supply of the city of Mount Vernon, the Village of Gambier and Clinton Township. Additionally, this conservation easement will help assure flood storage capacity on 186 acres of the flood plain, preserve 169 acres of farmland, and maintain or improve the water quality in the Kokosing River. The ecological importance of this area of Knox County cannot be overstated, and we are grateful to the Ariel Foundation and all our members who so generously donated to the Project. |
